Day 3 – Breathwork
Breathwork, also known as Pranayama is our life force energy. By manipulating the breath we can shift our energy and state.
I am going to share two styles of breathwork that are derived from yogic practices.
(03:35) Breath Of Fire- This helps bring you to a state of alertness if you feel sluggish
1.) Sharply exhale out of the nose or mouth. Focus on pumping the belly button back to the spine.
2.) Complete three rounds of 20 and go at a tempo that suits you.
3.) Between each round, let the breath return to normal and notice any shifts.
(07:08) Box Breathing- This helps you wind down and bring you into a place of ease and rest
1.) Breathe in for 4 2.) Hold for 4
3.) Breathe out for 4 4.) Hold for 4
5.) Go at your own pace and visualise the shape of a box if that’s helpful
6.) Repeat 5 times or more if needed
Health and safety- It is normal to experience some tingling sensations or light headedness during this practice. However, avoid breath of fire and breath holds if you are pregnant or are having breathing difficulties.
